Carlmont Media Day 2021
With the 2021 NSPA Journalism Convention getting canceled, Carlmont Journalism decided to hold its own. We had our Media Day on November 16 filled with numerous activities and presentations. I gave a short presentation about how to thoroughly write for sports. When sportswriting, your article can either be a sports profile or game coverage, so I included awesome examples and tips on how to successfully execute both. You can check out my sports profile presentation here and my game coverage presentation here.

Social Media Photojournalism
While implementing photojournalism wasn't originally my idea, I helped my friend Mandy take the lead on this new facet of Scot Scoop's social media. The posts performed really well, so we decided to open photojournalism as an option for the rest of the social media team. There are now over 20 social media photojournalism posts up on @scot.scoop! You can take a look at Scot Scoop's Instagram here.
Scot Scoop Editorial Staff
I was a part of Scot Scoop's editorial staff for two years! We met almost every week to go over discrepancies, critiques, and anything that needs to get done. As a part of joining the staff, I gained many new friendships, learned how to write an editorial, and had many laughs. I was promoted to the Scot Scoop Sports Managing Editor and was on the 2022-2023 Editorial Board. In the new role, I was able to collaborate with other publications on their sports-related work.

Members Development Committee Chair (Carlmont Key Club)
I was in Carlmont Key Club for two years. I absolutely loved getting involved and volunteering with the community. It was extremely fulfilling to be able to help people and animals from all facets of life! I also took on the role of the Members Development Committee Chair. In the Members Development Committee, we focused on recruiting new members and encouraging our current members to get involved as much as possible.

Assistant Site Lead (Belmont Parks and Recreation, Camp SOAR)
I have spent my last three summers working at Camp SOAR! Last year, I was promoted to Assistant Site Lead, which was a blast. With the promotion, my extra responsibilities included planning daily activities, evaluating Recreation Leaders, creating field trip groups, and facilitating games/crafts. Working with kids has been super rewarding, especially knowing how much impact we as camp counselors have on them.
